The Essay Competition is open to all students and young graduates who are EU citizens (or permanent EU residents) or Ukrainian citizens up to the age of 35, and who are enrolled in a recognised EU University. The deadline for submission has been extended to August 15, 2022.

The main objective of the European Biotech Week Essay Competition is to engage with European citizens, by raising awareness and making biotech accessible to local communities, and by showing concrete examples to explain how biotech surrounds and supports us in everyday life, also in light of the recent COVID-19 pandemic.

The Essay Competition is open to all students and young graduates  who are EU citizens (or permanent EU residents) up to the age of 35, and who are enrolled in a recognised EU University by the close of applications.   • How can the EU policy and legislative landscape (Industrial Strategy / Pharmaceutical Strategy / EU4Health / European Health Union, etc.) encourage development of the European biotechnology industry and support advancement in healthcare?
  • What is the role of industrial biotechnology as a key enabler of a more sustainable and competitive bioeconomy? How can its further development be supported?
